Valentine's Day Dessert Recipes

Are you looking for some great desserts to make for you sweetheart on Valentine's Day? The recipes listed below should satisfy your sweet tooth on that special holiday. The recipes I have included are Secret Kiss Cookies, Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies and Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Secret Kiss Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
30 milk chocolate kisses
1-1/3 cups confectioners' sugar, divided
2 tablespoons baking cocoa

Directions:

1) In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and mix well. Fold in walnuts. Refrigerate dough for 2-3 hours or until firm.

2) Shape into 1 inch balls. Flatten balls and place a chocolate kiss in the center of each; pinch dough together around kiss. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

3) Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until set but not browned. Cool for 1 minute; remove from pans to wire racks.

4) Sift together 2/3 cup confectioner's sugar and cocoa. While cookies are still warm, roll half in cocoa mixture and half in remaining confectioners' sugar. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Yield 2-1/2 dozen

La Bella Baskets Valentine's Day (2011) Shipping Guidelines

Last week for gift basket orders to be processed is January 31st - February 6th in order to arrive before Valentine's Day. If any orders are placed after that week, there is no guarantee for the gift to be delivered on or before the holiday.

Flowers - Last day to order is Friday, February 11th before 11:00 am EST to be delivered on Monday the 14th.

Depending where the package is shipping from and where the destination is please have orders in on a timely manner so they will be received either on or before the holiday.

FYI: Chocolate covered strawberries, candy apples, fortune cookies and Oreos are coming from California so please place orders early enough to allow for shipping time, especially if destination is East Coast.

Any fruit orders will be processed Monday - Wednesday only to take advantage of the ground shipping price of $11.95. This includes Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Candy Apples.
